About This Site

Finding someone in custody in McLean County means knowing which system is holding them. The county sheriff runs the local jail, the state runs prisons, and federal agencies run their own facilities. This site is a private reference that pulls those rosters, locators, and contacts into one place so you do not have to hunt across a dozen pages to start a search.

Why We Built This Site

Most jail and inmate information in Illinois is public, but the hard part is knowing where to look. The systems do not connect to each other. In McLean County the sheriff routes the current custody list to a phone app, the Illinois Department of Corrections keeps a separate locator for sentenced prisoners, and federal or immigration cases live in still other systems. We sorted out which tool answers which question and wrote it down. The goal is plain: gather the rosters, the locators, the office contacts, the visitation details, and the records-request steps so a worried family can move fast instead of guessing.

What You Will Find Here

The pages cover the full path from an arrest to a court record, with a focus on McLean County.

  • Help with inmate lookups, including jail inmate records, jail roster mugshots, and court records after a jail arrest.
  • A page for the McLean County Detention Facility, with its address, phone, capacity, and visitation rules.
  • Step-by-step help for the sheriff custody app and the statewide Illinois inmate locator.
  • How to request a booking record or photo and what turnaround to expect from the county.

What We Cannot Do

We want to be clear about our limits. This is a privately run reference site. We have no link to the McLean County Sheriff's Office, the jail, any Illinois court, or any state or federal corrections agency. We hold no records of our own.

  • We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
  • We cannot post bond, book a visit, or send money for you.
  • We cannot give legal advice.
  • We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or address stays current.

Only the sheriff's office or the corrections department can confirm a person's current custody, charges, or release. We can point you to the right roster, but the official answer always comes from them.

Search Partners

Some pages include a search box powered by an outside provider that sets its own pricing. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee, and that fee is what keeps this site free to use. We do not control how those partners price their service or what their results return, and using them is always your choice.
